Louisville  October 22, 2024 - Blendex Company has been honored with the 2024 Fast 50 Award from Louisville Business First for the ninth time. This is the 25th year for the program celebrating the success of area businesses which consist of the 50 fastest-growing private companies in the Greater Louisville area. The award is based on revenue growth for the last three years, and only businesses with more than $5 million in revenue are eligible. Blendex Company is a food industry processor that blends dry ingredients for commercial food customers. They are known for their high-quality custom blends and produce over two hundred food products. Blendex Company has made the list in 2023, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017 (also won the $25–100 million category), 2008, 2004, and 2003.

What are some business decisions your executive team made that were critical to your company's growth from 2021 to 2023?

We have upgraded processes/systems and increased support staff since the pandemic to ensure we maintain the level of safety, quality, consistency, and value for which we are known. Upgraded software/hardware and new production equipment have streamlined many internal processes. A 15,000 sq. ft. building expansion was moved from the drawing board to reality.

What is your company's biggest accomplishment during the past year?

Celebrating 45 years in business and growing the company, despite leftover obstacles from the pandemic like supply chain shortages, labor shortages, inflation, and customers that closed never to open again. We found hidden talent gained from newly recruited team members, promoted some more from within, and we relied heavily on experienced team members, which gave us remarkably successful years.

What are you doing to help motivate your team to keep the momentum of growth going?

Human Resources has become a top priority, a kind of "user-friendly department" that focuses on team retention, finding great talent, training, getting all team members involved, and looking at their long-term goals as well as ours.
